An Emblem is the official seal of the state which can be found on all official correspondences. After receiving requests for elaborating on more state emblems following the last week’s Trivia Thursday, let’s have a look at a few other interesting State Emblems of India in this week’s Trivia Thursday.

In this week's Trivia Thursday, let us have a look at some more interesting State Emblems of India:
Andhra Pradesh
At its centre is a Purna Ghataka (Complete Vase) surrounded by a Dharmachakra symbolizing the “wheel of law”.
Chhattisgarh
Ears of rice encircle the Lion Capital of Ashoka in the emblem. The 3 wavy lines in the colours of the Indian national flag symbolize the rivers of the state. A pair of lightning bolts show that the state is energy surplus. 36 fortifications surround the emblem, corresponding to the 36 fortresses after which the state is named.
Goa
Vriksha Deep (lamp) is surrounded by stylised design of coconut leaves representing the beautiful aspects of Goa. The motto “may everyone see goodness, may none suffer any pain”, written in Sanskrit, is present above the lamp. 2 open hands support the entire emblem.
Haryana
A lotus blossom emerges from the water in front of a rising sun. Lion Capital of Ashoka forms the crest on the shield, which is supported by ears of wheat.
Jharkhand
The outer ring has elephants (the state animal) in a green background. The middle ring contains Palash flowers (the state flower) while the inner ring has people in unique Jharkhandi style painting. In the centre is the Lion Capital of Ashoka with the motto Satyameva Jayate (Truth alone triumphs).
Karnataka
It has red shield with a white 2-headed bird (the Gandabherunda). The crest depicts multi-coloured version of the Lion Capital of Ashoka. Around the shield are 2 yellow-and-red lion-elephant Sharabhas (mythical creatures) At the bottom is Satyameva Jayate, the national motto of India.
Kerala
It is a derivative version of the Royal coat of arms of the Kingdom of Travancore. Sri Padmanabha's Royal Shanku (Conch), protected by 2 elephants, appears on the crest. Above it is the Lion Capital of Ashoka.
West Bengal
With a circle depicting the globe, the state of West Bengal is highlighted by a representation of the Bengali alphabet “ব”. The National Emblem of India adorns the globe. The emblem includes the name of the state in English and Bengali.
